Your training, explained

What does an on-site seminar achieve?

Participants learn how the relevant product requirements affect their daily work. They practise identifying the evidence they need, asking suppliers precise questions and explaining conformity assessment decisions to colleagues and customers.

A typical group includes around ten people from engineering, electronics, sales, quality management and management. Seminars usually take place at your premises and often run for one day. We agree the content, participants and duration with you so that the training fits your products and the team's existing knowledge.

What can a conformity assessment seminar cover?

The seminar explains how product legislation, national rules and harmonised standards fit together. Participants distinguish the manufacturer's product responsibilities from the employer's responsibilities for the safe use of equipment.

We show how to identify legislation and standards relevant to the product, including their scope and exclusions.

The training considers product safety throughout the foreseeable lifecycle, from installation and use to maintenance and disposal.

Participants explore how engineering, purchasing, production, quality and sales contribute to a consistent conformity assessment.

We explain how to select the appropriate assessment route and determine which technical evidence is needed.

Practical examples connect legal requirements with design decisions, test records, technical documentation and the relevant declaration.

The seminar also covers controls for keeping production consistent with the assessed design. Where factory production control is required for the relevant product sector, we explain its role and the associated records.

Which practical questions can we address?

We explain the relevant directives and regulations, the role of harmonised standards and the distinction between product safety and product liability. The agreed programme focuses on the requirements that matter to your products rather than presenting every product law in equal detail.

Topics can include product limits, risk assessment, risk reduction, residual risks, user instructions and the evidence needed for design calculations or tests. We distinguish a declaration of conformity from a declaration of incorporation and, for relevant construction products, a declaration of performance. Machinery examples can use Annex I of Directive 2006/42/EC and the relevant standards. We agree the legal framework and examples for the products and dates concerned.
